Granitz hunting lodge
The most visited castle in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The Granitz hunting lodge is situated in the middle of a 1000-hectare forest area on the outskirts of Binz, the Granitz. Built between 1838 and 1846 in the style of a Renaissance castle by Prince Wilhelm Malte zu Putbus, it now serves as a museum. The castle, on the 107-metre-high Tempelberg, offers a breathtaking view of large parts of the island of Rügen from its viewing platform at 145 metres above sea level.
