Welcome to Graal-Müritz, the pearl of the Baltic Sea! Located right on the Baltic Sea beach, just 20 km from the Hanseatic city of Rostock and at the entrance to the Fischland-Darß, this popular resort and spa town offers a unique blend of nature and relaxation.
The 5-kilometre-long, almost stone-free sandy beach is perfect for swimming in summer and, in the quieter seasons of spring, autumn and winter, it is the ideal terrain for relaxed walks.
The rhododendron spa gardens are a particular highlight, blooming as they do in May and June. Covering an area of 4.5 hectares, they were even an official outdoor location for the IGA Rostock 2003. More than 60 different species of rhododendron present themselves here in an impressive variety of colours. The traditional Rhododendron Park Festival crowns a ‘Rhododendron Queen’ who leads a weekly tour through the park.
Nature lovers should definitely discover the 275-hectare, still completely intact coastal moor, which has been protected since 1935. Here, attentive observers can discover rare plants such as the sundew and the gale shrub, as well as animals such as the pearl-bordered fritillary or the large white-faced darter.
The international cycle and hiking trail, which passes through the town close to the beach, offers leisurely tours with a view of the Baltic Sea and the imposing 350-metre-long pier. Along the way, the ‘Haus des Gastes’, the spa and bathing library and the Heimatstube invite you to visit and offer a variety of activities for young and old guests throughout the year.
You can rent bicycles on site at the hotel.
