Discover well-marked cycling and hiking trails that lead you directly from the IFA holiday park through the charming Vogtland region. Whether in spring with blooming mountain meadows, in summer when the farmers bring in the hay, or in autumn with magnificent valley and panoramic views – experience the untouched nature around the IFA-Schöneck.
Hiking experience:
The Schöneck forest area offers a network of hiking trails covering about 120 km. The two ring routes around the resort lead hiking enthusiasts through a charming low mountain range landscape. Detailed maps are available at the reception of the IFA-Schöneck, Hotel & Holiday Park.
Hiking suggestions:
Children's hiking trail ‘Moosmännleinspuren’ (4.7 km):
- Start at the tourist information centre at the train stop at the IFA Schöneck Hotel & Holiday Park
- The route leads to the ‘Alter Söll’ viewing rock, Albertplatz, the city park, the youth hostel and back to the starting point.
- Children receive a discovery book; the solution at the end is rewarded with a small gift.
Barrier-free hiking trail to the Muldenberg dam (7.5 km):
- Circular route from the Meilerhütte to the Muldenberg dam and back.
- Sand-washed gravel surface, well solidified and almost 2m wide over the entire route
Inner Ringweg (11 km):
- Leads from Schöneck to Schilbach via the Bockmühle and the valley station of the 4-seater chairlift back to the starting point
- Green marking as ‘Innerer Ringweg’
Outer Ringweg (15 km):
- Goes through nature and offers beautiful views
- Waymarking as ‘Äußerer Ringweg’
Hike Schöneck, Marieney, Eschenbach (15 km):
- Challenging route through Schilbach to Marieney and Eschenbach
- Continuous marking with a yellow line on a white background
Round trip Muldenberg, Kottenheide, Schöneck (20 km):
- leads from the Schönecker Hochebene with a few inclines to the Muldenberg dam and back.
- Refreshments available along the way.
Hike Schöneck, Wohlbach, Gunzen, Oberzwota (23 km):
- challenging route to Gunzen, via Oberzwota, Kottenheide and back to Schöneck.
- Overcomes more than 300 metres of altitude difference.
Hike Schöneck, Eschenbach, Saalig, Hermsgrün, Wohlbach (21 km):
- Through Eschenbach to Hermsgrün and along the ridge trail back to Schöneck
- Impressive views and diverse landscape
Hike Schöneck, Korna, Arnoldsgrün, Schilbach (16 km):
- Leads from Schöneck via Korna, Arnoldsgrün and Schilbach
- Varied route through forests and meadows
